We can offer two different types of insurance Indemnity or Re-instatement. With Indemnity cover, sometimes called Market Value insurance, the caravan is insured for the value of its replacement with a caravan the same as, or as similar as possible to, the caravan that you have purchased now. For example if you were to purchase a caravan for £15,000 pounds that is 3 years old, then if the caravan was damaged irreparably in five years time then the insurance company would try to replace it with a caravan of the same make and model, or as close a model as possible that is then available, that is 3 years old at that time.
With Re-instatement insurance, sometimes called New for Old insurance, the caravan is covered for it’s entire replacement cost with a new caravan, ie. if your caravan was a total loss from a flood or fire and you had owned a Willerby Granada then the insurance company would replace the caravan with a brand new Willerby Granada or the equivalent / replacement model if, by then, that model was no longer being manufactured. All items of property within the caravan are also replaced with new items except clothing and bedding for which an age allowance is made.
